Shooting Star Astrology                        Orlando Bloom's picture will
                                appear as background
                                           in a moment.

Orlando Bloom
is a sensational, vivacious actor, who began his career with a prime role in Lord of the Rings trilogy, went on to co-star with Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Carribean continuing on his way to becoming a superstar.
He has made known his date and place of birth: January 13, 1977, Canterbury England . However, there seems to be no public information on the exact time of his birth. Time of birth is essential to predictive astrology, but much can be derived from a chart without it. Orlando Bloom's chart shows accurate degrees (within a minute of arc) of the zodiac signs of his Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, but we cannot be sure of the Moon's position, as it changes so quickly throughout the day. We don't think that he would have been born any earlier than 9AM, because to attain the success that he has, he most likely would not have been born under a void-of-course Moon. Nor can we know the angles of the chart. But his time of birth has been rectified to 9:15 AM by an expert.
In order to accurately rectify a chart, astrologers need dates that major events have occurred in a person's life. Again, no published exact dates are easily found. But this chart fits with his graduation and casting for the Lord of the Rings in 1999. Thus, Shooting Star Astrology evaluated his life situations and is using this as an example chart.

Verified facts are these:

  • Mr. Bloom's Sun is at 23 degrees of Capricorn in one of the most favorable astrological aspects, (a trine) to his Jupiter, which is at 21 degrees of Taurus. Sun trine Jupiter invigorates the life force, adding to the vitality and intensity of the personality. (If the hypothesized time of birth is near correct, the Pisces Rising Ascendant is also tied favorably to this aspect, giving additional sensitivity to the personality.)
  • The closest major aspect in the chart is Saturn trine Neptune, which, coupled with the push from the Pluto sextile within the trine, nearly ensures his success as someone who is known globally. Saturn rules his Sun Sign, Capricorn.
  • Mercury and Mars are conjunct in Capricorn in yet another favorable position, a sextile, to his Venus in Pisces. On a superficial level this would make any other person an insufferable flirt, but his flirtatiousness is more surreptitious because of the Capricorn influence. Instead it makes him charming. It would be easy for him to fall deeply in love, not only with people, but with ideas, places, or situations. People with this much Capricorn tend to have good senses of humor too, even though their underlying directive involves a serious effort to live life to the fullest, getting the most out of each phase before moving on.
  • There are some interesting aspects from his birth planet positions to stars (in the sky). His Mercury and Mars are both in aspect to the star cluster Facies, which indicates that he should watch out for vindictive competitors. He may have to enlist help to make sure that he is aware of all levels of critical situations. His Uranus is conjunct both Acrux and Alphecca which indicate that he is very physically involved in his career roles and his life in general, and that he will lead a productive life.
  • Apparently in 1990 he found out that he man whom he thought to be his father was not. This is indicated in the chart by transiting Pluto in harsh aspect (square) to his birth Saturn. Pluto rules transformation, and indeed this sort of knowledge does require alteration of the thought processes. Saturn is the planet which rules the father, and is also his predominant ruling planet. (The trigger aspect came from the Progressed Moon crossing the Nodes.)
For Orlando’s personal year during 2010 his Solar Return chart has some unusual qualities. First of all, the Sun and Venus are conjunct, which indicates that this may be a year during which he becomes more aware of what he needs in terms of relationships to fulfill the core of his being. With Venus in Capricorn, he will start to lay a firmer foundation for his future. Solar Return Moon, Mercury, and Pluto are all conjunct in Capricorn, as well, adding to his ability to distance himself from frivolity and to concentrate on renovating his life from an elementary level upward. The changes that he makes will be during the private moments of his life, as this will be a year during which he will swing from inwardness to public displays of responsibility. Comparing Orlando’s Solar Return chart to his birth chart, Uranus is sextile his Sun (and Solar Return Sun/Venus conjunction) creating a configuration (Yod) that points to the seventh house cusp. This indicates that opportunities for advancement in his personal life will be offered through new, unique, and adventurous partnerships. Solar Return Mercury is 2 degrees from his birth Mercury, which will make him comfortable with the decisions he makes, his conversations and communicative abilities. Solar Return Mars is conjunct his birth Saturn, giving him stability and the ability to control impulsive behavior. On another note, Orlando’s Progressed Moon, in its 28 year cycle around the zodiac, is in Capricorn, approaching conjunction with his Sun, creating awareness within himself of the emotional side of his personality, and its need to be fulfilled. Through learning experiences Capricorns develop over time. This will be a year during which he will make solid progress.
