Pluto not a planet?

It is the opinion of the Astrologers of Shooting Star Astrology that anyone can label anything whatever they would like. The effect that Pluto makes on our daily lives is still certain and verifiable. (As Shakespeare wrote: “That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.”) Our consensus is that Pluto is the ruler of the sign Scorpio. It is the planet whose transits cause transformation. When an area of our lives is weak or failing, a transit or progression of Pluto at a degree that coincides with something on a person’s chart relevant to that area, will cause a tearing down and subsequent rebuilding to fit the current and future growth. Ann LaPan, Shooting Star Astrologer, (about us) illustrates the point: There was a beautiful little library located in the town in Massachusetts I was living in about ten years ago. The town population increased dramatically and the library had to be enlarged. During the year-long process of displacement and destruction, the site was not only inconvenient, but also an eyesore. But in the end, the architects had retained some of what had made it so charming, and created a larger, modern, more functional library. This is how Pluto works.
